To connect Asa.team with Slack and enable seamless communication through the Asa bot, follow these straightforward steps. The integration allows your team to use Asa directly within Slack to manage attendance and time tracking efficiently.
You can use Asa bot in Slack, and it is free! You will require:
An active Slack account.
Team owner permissions in the Slack workspace where you want to connect Asa.
Connecting Your Slack Workspace to Asa (Admin Setup)
Visit the Slack app directory and install the Asa app for your workspace.
Log in using your Slack credentials.
Select a Slack channel where you want the Asa bot to be active — this channel will serve as the hub for your team to clock in and out.
Once connected, Asa bot will post a welcome message in the chosen channel, inviting your employees to sign up and start using the service.
At this point, the Slack workspace is linked directly to your Asa company account, enabling the bot to communicate with your team members within Slack.
Setting Up Your Personal Asa Account on Slack (User Setup)
After the workspace connection is established, individual team members can link their personal Asa accounts to Slack:
Open a private conversation with the Asa bot in Slack.
Type the command
connect.Asa will prompt you to log into your existing Asa account or create a new one if you haven't already.
After login, select the company you want to associate with your Slack account.
A confirmation notification will appear on the Asa website indicating a successful link between your Asa and Slack accounts.
Asa bot will send a message in Slack confirming that your account is connected and will provide available commands when you type
/help.Your connection status will be updated in Asa to reflect the successful setup.
Your Slack Asa bot is now linked to your Asa account, enabling you to use Asa’s features seamlessly within Slack.
