AI Assistant

The AI Assistant is built into every integration bot (Teams, Slack, Telegram). You interact with it by asking questions or giving commands in natural language.

This is the same AI layer that has access to your Project Intelligence data β€” so you can ask project questions directly from the chat interface, without opening the web app.

Examples β€” personal queries:

  • "What time did I clock in today?"

  • "How many hours did my team log this week?"

  • "Submit leave for next Friday"

Examples β€” project queries (requires Project Intelligence to be set up):

  • "What are the current blockers on Project Alpha?"

  • "Any risks flagged this week?"

  • "What's the status of the backend migration project?"

What it can and can't do:

  • βœ… Answer questions about your own time, tasks, leave, and activity

  • βœ… Perform actions you have permission for (clock in/out, submit leave, create tasks)

  • βœ… Look up team data if you're an admin

  • βœ… Query Project Intelligence signals β€” blockers, risks, progress β€” in real time from any connected platform

  • ❌ Cannot take actions across platforms (e.g. can't post to Slack from Teams)

  • ❌ Cannot run on a schedule or trigger automatically

Plan availability:

  • Free: 15 AI messages per day, shared across your whole company. Basic commands (clock in/out, help, connect) are never counted against this limit.

  • Growth and above: Unlimited AI messages.

The daily limit is company-wide, not per person. If your team sends 15 AI queries total across all bots in a day, the quota is reached for everyone until midnight resets it.

Project Intelligence

Project Intelligence monitors your team's conversations in Slack, Teams, Telegram, or WhatsApp and automatically extracts structured signals β€” blockers, risks, decisions, progress updates β€” so you always know what's happening inside each project without asking for status updates.

Examples of what it detects:

  • A message saying "we're blocked waiting on vendor API docs" β†’ creates a Blocker signal

  • "Shipped the login flow this morning" β†’ creates a Work completed signal

  • "We might miss the deadline if the integration takes another week" β†’ creates a Risk signal

What it can and can't do:

  • βœ… Passively reads your connected channels (nothing is sent to your team)

  • βœ… Extracts 14 types of signals and builds a running history

  • βœ… Calculates a health score (on track / watch / at risk) based on blockers, momentum, and inactivity

  • βœ… Creates AI task suggestions when it spots a concrete action item

  • ❌ The background processing runs every 24 hours β€” it doesn't watch conversations in real time

ℹ️ To query your project signals conversationally, use the AI Assistant in Teams/Slack/Telegram β€” it has full access to Project Intelligence data

Plan availability: Growth plan and above.

SuperAsa

SuperAsa is the floating AI companion in the Asa web app. It watches what you're doing in the app and surfaces relevant actions or insights proactively β€” without you having to ask.

Examples:

  • You complete a task β†’ SuperAsa offers to notify your admin in Teams

  • You clock in late β†’ SuperAsa suggests submitting a note

  • You finish a project milestone β†’ SuperAsa offers to post an update to your team's Slack channel

  • You ask "how was my week?" β†’ SuperAsa pulls together hours, tasks, mood, and punctuality into a single summary

What it can and can't do:

  • βœ… Proactively notices context in the app and offers relevant follow-ups

  • βœ… Bridges between the web app and external platforms (Teams, Slack)

  • βœ… Answers cross-source questions that span multiple data points

  • βœ… Can initiate actions on connected platforms on your behalf (with confirmation)

  • ❌ Only available in the web app β€” not in Teams/Slack/Telegram

  • ❌ Requires explicit confirmation before taking any action (it never acts without you approving)

Plan availability:

  • Free: SuperAsa is available. Interactions count against the shared 15 AI messages/day company quota (same pool as the bot AI Assistant).

Growth and above: Unlimited interactions + deeper Asa Token-powered features (longer context, cross-platform actions, Project Intelligence integration).

Choosing the Right Tool

Scenario

Use this

I want to check my hours from Slack

AI Assistant

I want to know what's blocking my project without having to ask the team

Project Intelligence (Pulse tab in web app, or ask the bot directly)

I finished a task and want to notify my manager in Teams

SuperAsa (it'll offer to do it)

I want to clock in from my phone externally (Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Slack, WhatsApp)

AI Assistant

I want to understand what happened in my week

SuperAsa

I want to see all blockers and risks across my projects

Project Intelligence (Pulse tab), or ask the AI Assistant externally

Common Mistakes

  • Expecting SuperAsa to be unavailable on Free. Free companies get access to SuperAsa and the AI Assistant β€” they share a 15 messages/day quota across the whole company.

  • Expecting Project Intelligence to respond to questions. It's a background pipeline that processes conversations every 24 hours β€” use the AI Assistant for real-time queries.

  • Expecting SuperAsa in the Teams/Slack bot. SuperAsa is web-app only, but the AI assistant has similar functionality to SuperAsa.

  • Thinking the daily quota resets per user. The 15 AI messages/day on Free is a company-wide shared limit, not per person.
